From the CASS CITY CHRONICLE, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30, 1910 FIFTY YEARS OF MARRIED LIFE MR. AND MRS. DWIGHT MICKLE CELEBRATE EVENT. Have Been Residents of Novesta Township For 21 Years. Members of the Mickle family gathered at the home of Hart Mickle on the corner of Houghton and Sherman Streets Sunday to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Mickle of Novesta township. Besides Hart Mickle, Miss Addie Mickle of Toronto, Ont, and Mrs. Nellie Fritz of this city were the children who were present. Chas. M. Mickle of Amhersburg, Ont, is also a son, but was unable to attend. Dwight Mickle is a Rhode Islander and was born in that state 73 years ago. His good wife is a native of Chatham, Ont., and was 71 years old last Friday. They were married 50 years ago on Dec. 24 in Ridgetown, Ont. They left Ridgetown for Detroit where they lived two years and in 1889 became residents of Novesta township where they have since resided. Mr. Mickle has taken an active interest in the political life of Novesta and has served his township in various capacities among which are health officer, justice and member of the board of revieW. He has also served as a member of the school district board. Mr. Mickle was presented with a gold watch on the anniversary day and he and Mrs. Mickle $40 in gold besides many other valuable gifts. Their many friends join in wishing them many more years of wedded bliss.
